With it being back to school this month I decided to share my recipe for Easy Reese’s Bars. These peanut butter bars are so easy to make, require no baking, and are delicious.
There was a time in my life where I worked on creating the perfect bars almost daily. I was obsessed. I have always had a passion for cooking but I have not always had a kitchen that was conducive to my hobby. When I lived in these tiny apartments with the smallest kitchens you have ever seen I worked a lot of no-bake options. My Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies are proof of my love of no-bakes and my love of peanut butter! This recipe is proof of my love of Reese’s. LOL.
- Graham Crackers
- Peanut Butter
- Powdered Sugar (Confectioners Sugar)
- Milk Chocolate Chips
That is it! Simple ingredients that you most likely have in your pantry!
Directions for Reese’s Bars
This recipe is really easy! It will only take you a few moments to whip together. The longest time is the wait time for everything to set up.
My very first step is to make my Graham Cracker “flour”. I prefer to blend my graham crackers up to a rough flour. If you prefer more texture in your bars you can most definitely chop them or smash them with a rolling pin.
Once I have my graham cracker flour made I add it to my mixing bowl along with the peanut butter, confectioners sugar and of course my melted butter. I mixed these ingredients at medium speed until fully incorporated.
Once fully mixed spread evenly in a 9 X 13 pan. I spread this mix out with a rubber spatula and then press down gently with the back of a cool spoon.
Pop that pan of goodness into the fridge or the freezer if you have space. Start melting your chocolate. If you are fancy you can use a double boiler but I am not fancy so I always just use the microwave. VITAL – stir the chocolate every 15 seconds or so to ensure you don’t burn it! I also add in a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter into the chocolate mixture once it is fully melted. I love peanut butter… can you tell?
Remove your pan of goodness from the fridge or freezer and pour the melted chocolate over the top of it. Spread the chocolate evenly all over the pan and then pop back in the fridge. After about 20 minutes take the pan back out of the fridge and cut your bars. This will prevent your chocolate from cracking. If the chocolate hardens all the way it may crack as you are cutting it.
